Description The full story Proctor Synthelia – Sentinel of the University Synthelia was among the vanguard forces that razed the town of Huvuden when the Liturium War first began. She watched in horror as innocent townsfolk were turned to ash, women and children all indiscriminately killed by the underhanded surprise attack prepared by Valius Hanar. These were the kin of those who she had fought and bled alongside years earlier on Duskweave Isle. Her stomach churned at the site: this was not what she became a Marshall for. Days later, she would abandon her unit, and her country as she fled to the west, far from the frontlines of the war. In Draksborne she found refuge, and when word reached the University of Canos that a Leacianan had fled to their city, they quickly found Synthelia and offered her board and a place as a research assistant. She, as she found out, was the research subject. As Leacianans were rare outside the Arcane Dome that surrounded their kingdom, she was able to provide unique insights to both their culture, and the way it is powered entirely by Minera’s Breath. Pylons capable of transporting hundreds of citizens or soldiers hundreds of miles in mere minutes, cities floating in the sky powered by arcane cores or metal machinations animated by the Breath. It was these answers and insight that were able to aid them in fine-tuning their own animations, and begin researching similar transportation methods to connect the kingdom of Draksborne. None of these ambitions came to light, however, as darkness swallowed them when the Dragonblight descended onto the city of Canos. Synthelia proved herself in that time, showcasing why she earned the title of Marshall in her homeland, mounting much of the defenses in the University that held off the initial waves of the blight, before they were forced to retreat. For her acts, she was granted a permanent place among the Proctors of the University, the guardians and sentinels who are tasked with the school’s defenses, and investigate any use of the arcane arts that may be seen as untoward, within its halls.
