Etching For best results, acid etch the surface using a solution of 9 parts water to 1 part hydrochloric acid. Be sure to rinse thoroughly with fresh water, using a garden hose to remove all acid residue. Do not allow the acid to dry on the surface. Let the concrete dry completely before sealing. Moisture Warning Any moisture left on the concrete will cause the sealer to appear white and cloudy. It can also prevent adhesion, leading to delamination. Application Surface Uniformity Ensure the concrete has a consistent, even color before applying Prime Exposure One Coat Sealer. If the surface is uneven or stained, repeat the cleaning process. Any trapped contaminants or efflorescence will remain visible under the sealer. Usage Restrictions Do not apply Prime Exposure One Coat Sealer undiluted on flat-troweled, stippled, or unsealed slate impression concrete. It is specifically formulated for neat application on unsealed exposed aggregate concrete. Application Method Stir the sealer thoroughly before use. Apply an even coat using a high-quality roller to avoid pooling. The porous surface of exposed aggregate concrete allows the sealer to penetrate and adhere properly. Drying Time Allow the surface to cure for 3-4 days before driving on it. This ensures the resin has fully hardened. Dilution Option For other concrete types, Prime Exposure One Coat Sealer can be diluted with 20% Xylene for effective use, similar to a standard sealer. Resealing Surface Preparation Follow the same surface preparation steps as the initial application. Ensure the concrete is completely dry. Xylene Application Apply Prime Exposure Xylene to reactivate any existing sealer and improve penetration. Once dry, proceed with the standard sealer application.
