Description Ceramic media is a non-abrasive media used as a burnishing media for jewelry metals, and as a filler or separating material when tumbling stones. When tumbling stones, it is recommended to have 1/4 of the tumbler barrel load with ceramic media, or small stones to help rub the grit onto the material and this speeds up the tumbling process. Plastic pellets are great to help cushioning the material such as obsidian, but since the plastic is so light, it does not help that much for rubbing the grit onto the stones.
